Caitlin (Mack) Steffensen- owner
Hello! I am Caitlin (Mack) Steffensen the owner of Country Twisters Gymnastics. I attended North Dakota State University and graduated with a major in Exercise Science with a business minor. While in college I represented the NDSU Track and Field team as a pole vaulter. I was rated in the top 35 in the Nation my senior year. After college I returned home and started coaching gymnastics at Dakota Gold Gymnastics where I attended gymnastics as a child. I got engaged shortly after I graduated, and I am now married to my best friend, Cody Steffensen.
My dream was always to open up my own gym. So when the opportunity was put in front of me to open a club here in Clear Lake, South Dakota, there was no doubt in my mind that it was something I would love to do. Sharing knowledge and skills I have learned over the years with young star filled eyes of young gymnast fills me with joy.
I was a USAG member and started competitive competition at age 6 as a level 4 and worked my way up to level 10 throughout my career. In seventh grade I joined the high school gymnastics program and competed varsity through my senior year. My senior year I was the All- Around, Bars, Beam, and Vault State Champion. That same year senior I was the Sarah Nitz recipient. This award I was most honored by.
As a young gymnast I wanted to make it to level 10 and be a college gymnast. I accomplished one of my goals and made it to level 10, but God had another, as I found another talent in the sport of Pole Vaulting. I was able to get a scholarship closer to home and I found a new love in a new sport! I was granted so many opportunities through tis sport and new love. My eyes were opened up to a whole new world. One opportunity I will never forget was at ASU, where I jumped with members of the USA pole vault team! I now have team mates representing team USA and team Canada! GO BISON :)
